Been planning this with the college group of friends since last year! Yes, we call ourselves the 007 Bitches. We were talking bout how we'd celebrate by eating steamboat after we all successfully handed in our assignments. Finally made it happen by going to
Shabu-Shabu Garden which is located at Cheras after months of delaying :)
Reminded me of Sakae Sushi despite the fact that they both have different shades of green. The food there was good but as expected it wasn't really that filling. This costs us around 30++ per person as well. I personally prefer Suki-Ya though since they provide free flow of sliced meat cause I'm a meat lover. I guess this one's for those who don't have a big appetite.
The provide pumpkin porridge, ginger wine soup, herbal soup, miso soup and also one spicy one that I can't seem to remember :\ I really liked their Fatty Beef Cube. Their Lamb Slice ain't that bad either. It's such a shame that it's not free flow *cries
What I like bout Shabu-Shabu Garden is how you have your own pot of soup so you don't have to share and take in all the steam that whole pot of soup gives out. You could also use this opportunity to try out different kinds of soup if you have a whole group of people. It also doesn't make your hair stink as much since you don't have one huge ass pot of soup boiling right in front of you. I get this problem a lot when I was eating at Suki-Ya. If you're sitting where the steam always hits your face, congratulations to you and your hair. I really hope that these restaurants would install exhaust pipes for each table like how those Korean BBQ restaurants would. I'm sure everyone would appreciate this gesture cause no one likes coming home from a steamboat, bb buffet smelling like food and stuff D:
